Autobarn is having a sale on Castrol Magnatec 5W30 A5, this is a full synthetic with Euro ACEA A5/B5, API SN and Ford WSS-M2C913-D.

Ford 913-D oils are very interesting, they are thin for a 30 grade, high in ZDDP and high in TBN. They are only sold outside of North America, due to their elevated ZDDP levels, and consequently don't carry the most recent API SP. No worries about LSPI though, as ZDDP is a powerful LSPI quencher.

Ford Europe wanted a long life oil (TBN > 10), with extra wear protection (ZDDP ~ 1000 ppm) and good fuel economy (viscosity at the thin end of a 30 grade).

Note: Looking into it more, I can find two Castrol product sheets
- API SN with SAPS = 1.21%
- API SP with SAPS = 0.92%
Both A5/B5 and Ford 913-D so maybe there is an updated version with a different additive package. Both have the same KV100 = 10.1 cSt.

Price is $60 for 6L, down from the regular $80. I'm not sure which one (SN or SP) is on sale.

I read that Bunnings is moving into the auto sector over the coming months. Will be interesting if it puts pressure on the existing players.

Looks like they’re stocking Nulon and Valvoline at this stage.

This is what I use in my Land Rover. It’s only SL, so hopefully lots of ZDDP.

I don’t think it’s a particularly flash oil, Group 3, no GTL from what I can tell. I actually wonder if I should just use normal Shell Helix Ultra next time in 5W-30, it should be a better oil with its GTL, but a bit thicker.

Last time I was in my local they had one full side of an isle to auto. Good products as well. Not bad effort actually.
Same kind of setup as they recently did with home cleaning products.

Yes I saw Valvoline and Nulon car oils in my local Bunnings today. Nothing special price wise.

They have always had Valvoline, but the Nulon (Fuchs) is new.

The Mothers and Meg's car wash price was really good. About $25 for the 2 L jug.
I got some Oakwood leather cleaner for a good price.
There's some gems in there.
Worth slotting into the routine as I'm there most frequently.

To 30 June, AutoBarn has Castrol Magnatec Diesel DX 5W40 full synthetic at $50 for 5L.
It's API SN/CF, ACEA C3 and dexos2.

They also have Nulon Fusion 5W30 full synthetic at $40 for 5L.
It's just API SN.
