I hope the NAPA Nascar Proselect filters aren't like that inside, I've got those filters for my wife's car and my car for our upcoming oil changes.
This IS a Proselect!

WOW,I use a NAPA Gold 1394 on my JD riding mower..
I have a used JD filter (which is made by Fram) I guess I am going to have to cut it open and compare now

Get the Toyota Matrix XRS OEM filter for the 2ZZ and be done with it! It's the larger one vs the 1ZZ (which crosses to your Fram 4967).

I wouldn't take them back or anything Patman, it's a solidly constructed filter, it's just that the combo valve is almost the same length as the media, so the media is short. I'd rather see a real bypass valve as well but I'd be a lot less worried about using this filter with a low viscosity oil like 5w-20 in the cold, like you use in your wifes Civic.

Thanks but no thanks. I have cut open the OE filter and it is worse than a Fram. Worst I have ever seen. Doesn't even have end caps, everything is just pieced together. You can completely disassemble it when you cut it open. Bad bypass design too. Also they are made in Taiwan.

Is this filter different than the NAPA Gold?
