dino change interval vs. syn change interval

There is no need to idle an engine before pulling off, start it and go right away, just drive very gently. Idling it just adds more fuel into the oil and there is simply no need for it. As long as you're not going full throttle or climbing a big hill in the first few minutes of operation, you're not hurting the engine by driving it with cold oil. It'll warm up much faster by driving gently than it will by idling it.

Sometimes it is so hard to make a decision. Espcecially when there is no "scientific proof".

I guess I would start with a dino (either Penn or Chevron) and do some UOA's. My thinking is that the dino "may" help in the break-in process. Please don't torch me.

Then I would go with the Mobil and do a few UOA's with it. I'd use Terry for the interpretation.

Then make a decision based on your info for your engine and your driving habits.

I used to be 100% for synthetics. After coming to this site, now I'm only about 75%. It depends "a lot" on how frequently you want to change your oil.

I don't like either option.

I'd use dino and change it at 6 months, regardless of miles. With the engine rarely getting a chance to warm up, I'd want to dump it often to lose the moisture, fuel, and associated nastinesss.

I'd pick answer 3. None of the above.

I think you could run a good synthetic and probably go to the longest "non-severe" drain interval listed in the manual and be fine...
