Difference between these 2 pennzoil products

Well it is indeed a superior method of producing a Group III base stock. A good VI and low contaminates, plus other advantages.
Correct, but there is also zero reason for someone to seek out an oil that uses GTL over other base stocks. It would be equivalent to going out of your way to buy cookies that were made using Gold Medal branded flour.

It’s not zero. GTL base stocks are superior in deposit formation due to better oxidative stability and they require less VM to achieve a winter rating. Not as good as PAO but closer than most Group III base stocks.

I keep an empty 1-quart container to hand and fill from a second 5-quart container to use as an accurate measure, as have the same issue - needing to add 6 quarts. Technically spec says 6.3 quarts but always reads "full" when 6 quarts are added, along with a new filter.

Don't understand crazy high pricing on single quarts. Guessing it is market driven. If it can be sold at those high prices more profit for retailer/manufacturer. Also noticing increasing availability of 12-quart cartons at Walmart. Don't need the second six for another year and more time to open as well as more plastic to dispose of. However, on pricing by the quart these bulk 12-pack cartons are the most affordable if you are willing to store.

Same principle as a 20oz coke vs a 2-liter
