I wasn't away from football all that much yesterday, but I didn't see much mention of the anniversary of the JFK assasination.

Come to think of it, I didn't either. Give it a few years and 9/11 won't mean anything either.
Presidents are a dime a dozen. None of them have been worth their cost to the tax payers.
Public television had an hour long story about it, and followed that with the story of Jack Ruby. Replay of course, so it didn't hold my attention.

And to Drew....thats pretty cold man. And they dont all die at the hands of a Coup detat....Our country has errovocably gone downhill since the Military Industrial Complex took things over on Nov 22, 1963.

At the end of one of the 2 hour analysis of JFK's demise, was an obvious and almost comical admonition to never look into this event. You will have mental problems. You will have all sorts of trouble. Let it rest. Etc..
They of course took the position that Oswald acted alone. signed, sealed, and delivered as a fact only hours after the assassination.
One glaring proof of conspiracy [among many] was pictures that Dallas Police Office White had , and found upon his death.
They were the alternate and not so good forgeries of Oswald holding his weapons. You know, the one with the pasted on head with the shadows going in the wrong direction?

I think JFK's assassination was a world history altering event. Most certainly the chain of resultant events altered OUR path in a most significant way. I don't do it often, but I try and imagine what would have been with him living. The man, regardless of how you view the laundry list of post humus character attributes, was an extremely dynamic leader of men. Most inspirational in motivating a population when we most surely needed it. Our most crowning post WWII achievements were initiated during his administration and it was an exciting time to grow up in. I would characterize my hind sight image of "The Greatest Nation on Earth" as being how I view that time in my life. Full of forward looking hope ..full of ambition ..full of bounty ..and national unity. Granted all of that is through the naivete of a child's mind ..but it was real to me.
