"November 1963" movie being filmed here

Has Dallas, like most cities, since lost its elm trees? We still have many thousands. I wonder whether that's why they close to film here.
How well manicured are your grassy knolls? 😁

They're shooting there for the tax credits, and probably other reasons I can't get into right now. Vancouver and its endless clouds provide consistent lighting, but you get much more sunshine.

Per the 'net, this movie will be "the true story", and says the Mafia was responsible.

James Lifton's book "Best Evidence" was about a government cover-up.

Jim Garrison's book "On The Trail Of The Assassin's" dovetailed with Lifton's, looking more at the legal side of the alleged government conspiracy. (I haven't seen it, but apparently Oliver Stone's movie JFK was based on Garrison's book.)

Gerald Posner's book "Case Closed" agreed with the Warren Commission - "Oswald Acted Alone".

There have been compelling arguments made blaming Castro, the "military-industrial complex", the Mafia, LBJ, and on and on. I don't know if we'll ever know for sure.
I'm surprised that there was as little security as there was. Other countries like Iceland you can physically walk up to the Presidential home. No snipers on the roof no gate etc it's wild. It's odd that it has been covered up for so long.

There's only 1 shooter. 2 wounds of entrance, both from behind the President, on a direct line from Oswald's 6th floor sniper window. 2 witnesses saw Oswald and his aimed rifle in the window. 3 coworkers on the 5th floor below Oswald hear the shots being fired above them, hear the bolt operating and the ejected cases hitting the ceiling overhead.
Oswalds brother was interviewed many yeats ago. He flat out said Lee Harvey could shoot a fly off you at 100 yards. He said he was 100 percent convinced that his brother was the only one involved. The hush hush around the case is what has caused so many issues.

The shots were about 60 yards then 85 yards.

In all my years of hunting, I've never saw an entry would eject matter to the rear. The "undiscovered" entry wound is just above the hairline of the Presidents forehead, being hit while he was leaning forward and grabbing his throat, blowing material onto the trunk of the car. A "secret" search for bullet fragments was done, and hidden.
To me this indicates a rifle bullet running about 3200 fps, hollow point in design, and easily silenced. Probably a little bigger than .223 and about 100gr or more. I'd GUESS about 6 to 6.5mm in diameter.
Do you think all those people pointed to the grassy knowl for no reason?
That was where the second shooter was.

Not "ejected to the Rear" The driver is starting to accelerate and turning slightly right. This car movement causes the President to slump back and to the left. There is no "undiscovered" entry wound...just above the president's hairline." That's the exit wound. The entrance wound is a 6.5 mm round bullet hole upper right of center on the back of the president's head. You could look at the autopsy photos to observe this wound of entrance.

The only thing that bugs me is the no photos thing. Was this a public street? Are such laws different in Canaduh?

I'd inform them there's a reason movie studios film on huge, closed PRIVATE lots. Bring anything on or near a public street and it's fair game.

Lotsa photos. Public downtown street. It was considered to have the bubble top on the convertible, but the President wanted to be closer to the people.

It bugged me too. If anything I would have guessed they would have welcomed some free publicity.

Yes, the filming was being done on a series of residential streets in a quiet tree-lined neighbourhood. I suspect they're filming the scene where Officer Tippit is slain by LHO.

I don't know if the motorcade/Dealy Plaza part is being filmed here.

I'd tell 'em they can call law enforcement because I'd love to know the statute which prohibits photos in plain sight in public :D. But in a land that seemed to like Little justin....anything is possible :(

Furthermore you're naive if you think you're gonna bring out a bunch of classic cars and not have the interest of gearheads, much less movie followers.

I wasn't going to reply to this thread, but I found this pretty interesting (3 shots). I also re-watched the Zapruder film again, and the shot from front is pretty obvious. The Zapruder film was "restored" and on YouTube, so, yeah, I know.

I do know this much, no '60's Lincoln ever accelerated that fast, let alone a Limosine. It's also obvious that it didn't since Jackie was on the trunk and Secret Service personnel were able to hop on board.
I'll also revise my suggestion on the weapon used. A 5.56 NATO round would be able to inflict that kind of damage if the right bullet was used. Hence the search for bullet fragments.
