1995 honda civic its my mom car. Well did oil change syntec blend and mobil filter. She ran a 4500 oci I topped off like crazy due to many oil leaks. Well I did the oil change and kept the mobil on? Is it true filters become more efficient over time? I'm thinking about keeping it on for a third oci. Yes no ?

Yes, they filter better right up to the point of failure( bypass ). I would change it.

Just no filtering. Its unlikely it will bypass over two 4500 mile or so runs. I ran a EaO for two 5k (or so) runs and the insolubles were lower after the second run than the first.. (.2 vs .3)
Leave it on. A Mobil 1 is an extended life filter and people often run 12,000 miles with them.
I would do two OC with it removing the filter and dumping old oil out then put it back on.

A M1 filter is a blend not full synthetic like a EAO or RP.
