I decided to take advantage of my longer commute and the mild weather California enjoys, to extend the OCI on my 06 Mazda 3. The car currently has about 167k miles and spent most of its life on 5k mile OCIs using conventional oil.
I'm happy to report that the oil level stayed at the max mark on the dipstick and no makeup oil was added. The oil of choice was Mobil 1 5w30 and it was replaced with Mobil 1 0W40 just for the heck of it, since I never used a 40 weight in this car before.
The oil was a bit darker on the dipstick than on my normal 5k OCIs, but it was still transparent as can be seen in the picture.
