Wasn't at the auction looking to buy one, but when it came into the lane it looked clean. 147K and riding on 22" Giovannas wearing 25 series shoes. That alone cost the previous owner over $4,000, and I paid less than twice that for the whole car.

were they pushing it through the auction? or did you drive that sweet ride home? :)

Congrats on the purchase. The biggest flag I see is the aftermarket wheels- a huge flag for a S class when it has aftermarket wheels.

Let us know how this is going, if I might be able to provide any help just let me know. Note there are much smarter MB folks on BITOG than me, significantly smarter....

Why is it a red flag?

That's beautiful and sounds like some dumb stuff I would have done 8 or more years ago. 😂 I'm unfortunately not as interesting these days.

I fully support your purchase and that looks like a lot of fun. Those wheels are freakin' hot.

Red flag because that kind of Mercedes usually costs a lot to maintain.

New, inexperienced owners don’t anticipate that, blow their $$ on wheels just after getting it, then neglect it when it’s time for actual maintenance because they’re out of $$.

I’ve seen this many dozens of times on the forums, so, it happens far more often than that.

Used S-class with sweet wheels = neglected money pit. Not always, but often.
