You'll like the Duragloss shampoo. I used it today and its great. Second only to Zaino Z7. Only negative I can think of is it doesn't foam as well as some other shampoos when used with a foam lance via pressure washer.

Still, that's not a big deal unless you're into foam, which is a bit silly in itself.

Im hoping so as I just bought 2 gallons of the duragloss wash from excel detailing for $16.99 a piece. I have heard from a few people that it is *almost* as good as the griots wash.

I do have a foam gun but have not used it yet. Will probably stick with the DP foam when I do use it, who really knows?

I like the cherry scented DG901 . It leaves behind something that adds some gloss. I also like Poorboys Super Soap Suds. It is similar to DG901 with a gel like consistency but has some fruit smell. It suds a lot and feels slick.

You laugh but a couple months ago I hit a site in India where three fellows purchased a used car and proceeded to take it apart and detail EVERYHTING, literally! Wish I had bookmarked the site 'cause it was great! A little crazy and over-the-top, but great.

I only detail once a year or so just before I apply a Duragloss #105 TTP paint sealant. I do not clay either, just fire up the Porter Cable 7336SP with buffing pad attached and some Poorboys pro polish or equivalent. No need for monthly waxing once TTP is on the job unless you are OCD or doing a show car.

Extra protection is a good thing.

But I have not used a wax product in 3-4 years since I started the annual exterior detail/sealant routine. I have one car that gets parked on the street and it beads water after 12 months almost as well as it does after its annual detail/sealant treatment. I do wash the cars at least monthly (usually twice a month) with a sheepskin mit, two bucket method, and BOGO shampoo. The shampoo I have on the shelf currently is Nu Finish Orange Power and it seems to work well, but there are many other good ones to chose from.

Here is my process takes 3-4 hours once a year.

1) Wash and rinse car.
2) Work over the front end and wheel areas with Poorboy's bug-squash to get remaining bug guts and road crud/tar off the paint, then flood rinse the car.
3) Fire up the PC (Potter Cable 7336) with some Poorboy's pro polish or similar non abrasive polish. I let the PC supply the elbow grease. I only resort to an abrasive polish (PB SSR type) if there is a problem area. Followed by a flood rinse.
4) Wipe on (very little effort required as the car is very clean at this point) a thin coat of Duragloss #601 bonding agent with a sponge pad. Follow the instructions on the bottle as you do not buff/wipe the bonding agent haze off before applying the 1st coat of sealant.
5) Wipe on two thin coats (A little goes a long way)of Duragloss #105 TTP sealant, also with a sponge pad. Buff after each coat of sealant with a MF towel. I like to wait until the next day to apply the second coat of TPP to give the sealant plenty of time to set. I am not sure if you really need to.

This works well for me and does not require a lot of time.

I wax my car monthly with Meguiars NXT 2.0 wax and wash it weekly and detail it with Ultimate Quik Detailer or Ultimate Quik Wax after every wash,it is enjoyment for me and have been doing this since I got my first car back in the 60's

When its nice both of my cars get washed through the weekend, its nice to get outside and not in the office. Plus I think its relaxing.

Poorboys is another great product to use in the Sun.

I use mostly megs products for correction, M80, M82, UC, swirlx with my PC (Porter Cable 7424) but also use Pinnacle XMT swirl removers but use different brands of sealants (Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant, duragloss 105, and poorboys ex-p) and have many waxes megs #26, colinite, wolfgang, pinnacle.

I dont wax monthly but do onr wash weekly (DP wash and gloss) and use either Duragloss aquawax or megs ultimate quick wax after every wash. Both are very good and easy to use

I just stated that waxing monthly is probably overkill but never said not to do it or that I dont do it

Um, no, NXT (two coats) lasts about three months. I've been using it for several years on my 1,000 miles per week daily driver - it is a good OTC mass market product. Not sure how this "one month" myth got started...probably as flame bait from some troll.

How much/what quality prep work do you do? NXT 2.0 is made to be used on a prepped surface. My car sits out in the weather 24/7 and my single coat of NXT 2.0 is still going on it's 4th month.

It got started back in late 2001/early 2002 when Meguiar's introduced NXT as their longest lasting product. When numerous experienced detailers tested it for themselves, most were underwhelmed at its durability; 4-8 weeks was common.
