Deposit Shield Partial Synthetic

I just spotted Havoline Deposit Shield Partial Synthetic at Mills Fleet Farm.
I was surprised to see it, but what baffles me is why they have the Partial Synethic and not the regular Deposit-Shield, unless they are waiting for the old stock to sell out so they have shelve-space.

and its for $2.99 a quart which doesn't seem such a bad price when i've seen reported costs of Regular Deposit shield being $2.59, not to mention Valvoline and other products conventional oil being almost 3 bucks a quart.


Has anyone else spotted the Partial Synthetic or maybe the Full?

I'd say they're holding back on putting the new dino Deposit Shield on the shelves until the old formula sells. That way, they don't have to discount it!

$2.99 doesn't sound like a bad price for the semi-syn. Heck, O'Reilly Auto Parts sells Pennzoil Conventional oil for $2.99/qt.

The only problem I have with semi-synthetic oils is that you have no idea how much of it is synthetic & how much is dino.

I think i may have found my oil for my new Vehicle though, i was thinking of running a full synthetic but at the intervals i change oil at i think i could stretch it to 5000 miles and run this

Another option in the sub-$3 syn-blend category is Motorcraft/Kendall.

Advance Auto has PP Synthetic at 2 fer 1 price so it is about 3.00 per quart. Better buy in my opinion.

I don't really expect Havoline to sell at Castrol prices
even with more advertizing and new dino, dino blend , hm and syn for every nitch. I'm waiting until Chevron needs to lower the prices, do rebates and BOGO this stuff to start selling enough to take Castrol shelf space. I got enough Chevron supreme and PP to wait them out on over $2 dino and $3 blend. Even TropArtic would be $5 less per OCI.
