I am going to use a Denso First Time Fit oil filter in my 04 Acura TL. I spoke to a Denso tech who couldn't tell me

anything

about it. Does anyone know if it has metal or cardboard end caps, if it has a coil or leaf spring, any flow/filtration rates or a site where I can get them?

Denso does not seem to use end caps in the conventional sense. If you look at their website Denso Oil Filters and click on "cutaway" you get a view inside the filter. You can mouse over the little yellow dots to get some more information. They claim to use silicone anti-drainback valves.

I've never seen any published test data or construction analysis on the Denso filters.

I have used on one my Honda once and from an external viewpoint the construction quality seemed to be first rate.
