Iron more than doubled with D1 compared to Syntec 5w-50, but lead is down with D1. Interesting. I'll be watching this thread to see what the gurus think.

It seems reasonable to assume that the high iron was due to sitting a while bf sampling. Did it sit a long time on the Syntec?? Other than that-kinda' boring which is good.

Nothing stands out to me. Be nice to have the silicon a little lower. I think this tells you that you don't need a 50 wt. And since you went only 5K on the Delvac-you are probably doing a little overkill. I'd be tempted to try the Delvac 1300 or the Delo 400 at the same milage.

Seems like the Supertech 5W30 did quite well when compared to D1 and Syntec 5W50 and under harder conditions too.

Not bad at all for 84 cents a quart!

HI,Yes the Syntec 5w-50 was sampled just a week after the summer trip(5,600).As Blackstone pointed out, the increased wear #s probably come from the 5-months of basic inactivity prior to sampling the oil. Thanks Al,& all for the comments.I'll try D1 again for the summer 5K(overkill or not).I'd like to sample immediately like the the Syntec. Also, the Ford 4.2L six has some head-gasket leaking issues to watch also by a UOA.Is it possible the cleaning properties of D1(NAPA Gold filter) affected some of the numbers?Oh,the other oil prior to D1 is Havoline Syn 5w-40(3K).
