As is typical with all the synthetics I've ever seen before, the hot idle oil pressure is usually slightly less than their dino cousins.
I had been running Mobil 1 T&SUV in my '88 Mercedes Benz 300 SEL for the past 2 changes. Not being able to even find the stuff on the shelves anymore, I picked up the latest version (CI-4+ upright container) Delvac 1. I've also been using a Wix filter each time.
My hot idle pressure is now sitting @ 1.5 bars pressure, whereas the T&SUV was always at 1 bar or slightly less. I find the Delvac 1 idle pressure is similar to the Delvac 1300 15W-40 I was running in my other '88 300 SEL last summer.
I find this confusing seeing as it should be the same secret recipe as T&SUV unless something has changed in the past few months...
Anyone have any guesses.?
