Delta 757 loses a wheel in Atlanta

Yeah, the national news is playing up “Another problem for troubled Boeing”.

As if that 30 year old Delta airplane has never been touched by Delta since Boeing built it…

🤦‍♂️
Color me suspicious of the media coverage - which put me on a pilgrimage to find who owns what we once called American media - shocking how many are no longer US owned - or in how many states the "local" stuff is not locally owned ...

Seems we have a maintenance shortage.
And a developing ATC shortage. I've met a number of A&P's over the years. The biggest issue I've been told is that budget Airlines don't pay well to start nor as well as the big airlines yet the price of admission is staggering. The amount of tools and the toolbox you need to start is like buying a used vehicle. I was surprised how much money mechanics had invested to start.

That’s true for many aspects of those airlines. The more rigorous the license (A&P, ATP, etc.), the worse they look. For a flight attendant or customer service rep (and let’s be honest, two weeks training, no tools), they look great because they move up in seniority quickly.

That’s why Spirit won’t be here in a year or two.
