We just had to replace the Delphi pump in a 1997 GMC truck after a little over two years and about 11,000 miles because it went out. Since it had a lifetime warranty we used another Delphi pump. Hopefully this one lasts longer than the previous one.
Are you sure it's Delphi?? The OEM pump on our '05 Yukon was Bosch. I put in a Delphi and the fuel gauge never read correctly again. I've sworn off Delphi since just because it was incredibly annoying
I had a 2nd fuel filter replaced on my 1998 Dodge Caravan at 163K The mechanic broke the fuel pump connector and it leaked gas on the driveway. He replaced the pump with a Bosch, I overpaid (duhh) for the pump and he did not charge labor. The gauge didn't read correctly. The mechanic put in another Bosch one. Same problem. I said leave it alone..9K miles later and 2 months after warranty expired the gauge won't read or reads and the low gas idiot light comes on and beeps every 10-15 seconds,,if it reads at all. On Rock Auto , Delphi is the most expensive but still 1/3 the cost from the mechanic. The labor is $187, from another shop it is about $5 cheaper (he lets me buy my own pump). I see a pump from Sparta on Rock Auto that is distributed by Delphi...any ideas. ??Costs only $43.
