Delo Sports 15w40

I noticed Delo Sports was a lot cheaper than the normal Delo products and also a synthetic blend so I was curious to find out more about it. It is CH-4 SL rated but the PDS states this

Why would they say it is not suitable for gasoline engines?

I would guess it would be fine in an older engine that simply required an SL or earlier rating and where a 15w40 viscosity would be acceptable. I'd use it in my F-150 (and would have used it in my Audi when I had it) without reservation.

I'm assuming they're simply covering their behinds with respect to emissions equipment on newer gasoline engines. It obviously wouldn't be ILSAC GF-3 rated in conjunction with the SL. I can also understand the motorcycle side of the equation if it has no JASO rating.

Aside from covering their own behinds, I'm not sure what they're getting at. It's either SL rated or it's not. It's dual rated, and they obtained the SL rating, so I cannot see a problem in using it where a non-resource conserving SL in 15w40 is an acceptable lube.

it has, I think it would work very good in my motorcycle. If I could find it.

Maybe there's too much moly or something similar for a wet clutch. As for the condemnation for gasoline use across the board, yeesh. I certainly would like to find that oil up here, too.

No, probably not. I've never heard of a "Delo Sports" line up here, and finding a CH-4 rated lube would be difficult, to say the least.
