Delo 400 CI4 vs CI4+

Well upon close inspection of cases of Delo 400, 2 cases are the CI4+ and one case is the CI-4. Looks like the CI4 is stamped with a 2003 year and the CI4+ has a 2006 year. Will the older CI4 be a good oil in my 94 Cummins? I was under the impression all 3 cases were the CI4+. Thanks for your help, Ken

Likely the same formula. CI-4 Plus was a slight tweak from CI-4 and quality premium oils didn't have to change.

If I'm not mistaken, The CI-4+ introduced Moly & Boron into their formulation. I noticed the change on my used oil analysis reports. Moly & Boron are a "good thing". An added layer of protection for your engine.

Chevron Delo 400, CI-4+ was considered a very high quality oil that came close to the quality of a good fully synthetic.

Would there be any benifit, or a loss, if I used 1/2 CI4 and 1/2 CI4+ on an oil change?

Highly doubt it - I'd use it up.

You are good to go with both. I wouldn't mix them....just cause why mess with designed chemistry, but seriously doubt that mixing would hurt a thing.

Why in the world would you mix them? You are thinking about this way too much. Also, you have a '94 Cummins. Why wouldn't a 2003 oil be good for your engine? Just use the CI-4 and then use the CI-4+ when the other is used up. Delo is good oil either way you look at it.
