I heard on the news while I was at work something about Microsoft may acquire Dell Computers. I did not hear everything that was said but apparently there is a possibility of Microsoft buying out Dell.

Well if Microsoft does buy Dell it will enable them to have that hardware maker for their computer operating systems and software. And Microsoft ownership might possibly result in better quality computers and service. We will have to wait and see if it happens.

MSFT is sitting on a ton of cash. So dell could be a buy.

But isn't that kind of against their business model?? Kind of Apple-ish? Hw and sw in one?

A cellphone maker I could see as a buy for ms, since that stuff is tighter integrated.

They bought Nokia already IIRC.

IBM saw what Dell and HP did not. Dying business when there PC business was worth something.

Let china grab these up. Lenovo still makes great products and has excellent support.
