Greetings-
downloaded Blue Driver app on my iPhone by mistake. Deleted it but it remains on the app library list with pages of "acknowledgments" that burn up storage. Can't get rid of it. I blame it on the new IOS 18 that I suspect is also causing problems with calls and messages I never had before the "update".
Any ideas on cleaning out the Blue Driver remnants?

Hold your finger on the app icon for a few seconds. A window should pop up with the option to remove the app. Say yes to that.

Then turn the phone off and then back on.

off topic, you can hold your finger down on the space bar and it can control the cursor with some precision

thanks- did this and many times before for other apps. No problems previously. Regret I updated to iOS 18

To add pics to what's already been said. However, this is not a new to iOS18 way of deleting apps, this started in iOS14 I believe. So I'd be curious to see more information from the OP. I have had zero issues with iOS18 on a 13 Pro Max.

What phone do you have?

Long press on an app until they all jiggle, the tap the '-' mark

or some apps have a long press menu, for example, pocket casts does and at the bottom of it's menu is a remove app option

Then make sure that you press delete app on this next popup

dropping calls, failure to place calls or send iMessage's. All this started shortly after iOS "update" to 18
Do you have access to a computer? Mac or Windows with iTunes?

I ask because I like to do this on a computer, but it should be possible without.

Backup and restore from backup.

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes updating friggs out and reinstalling from a backup fixes it. I had an issue years ago where suddenly my iPhone 3GS would run through battery of about 1% per minute. A backup and restore from backup solved the problem.

It's a computer in the end and the good ol' fashioned basic principles of computers still applies.

Did you try re-starting your phone or even shutting it off for few minutes after the update? They need to be re-started periodically anyways and will do weird thing if they are not.

As far as deleting the app, you can go to Settings->General>Storage and find this app there. You can delete it from there as well. If it's not there then it was deleted and perhaps a re-start will fix the issue.

The same, basic method has been in place since iOS 12, 10, or even earlier. Long-press and hold, then perform the action.
I was referring to the App Library method of app storage and removing from home screen vs deleting.

The long press/jiggle method has been around since nearly, if not, the beginning.

I can't remember the last time I had to reboot my phone other than when doing an iOS update. Dropping calls, messages not going, etc are more likely signal issues, not OS issues.

It's great to hear you never had any issues, but others, including me do experience weird issues and re-starting solves them.
Not sure why you're arguing against it 🤷‍♂️

It's always smart to re-boot if something isnt working as it should. Clearly the OP was having an issue, possibly update related. If all fails re-boot absolutely. Once in a great while an app doesnt behave like it should, again, re-boot. It's just common sense.

did all that: long push, delete, reboot etc. Wife has identical iPhone but did not update to 18 and does not have the these issues. This started immediately after the update. Never happened before it. Together, these observations suggest its the 18 IOS update; not signal strength, wayward electrons, entropy, karma, etc
