This is the first time I've seen Premium Def, but is it worth paying extra money for? Saw Peak Def and Peak Premium Def at my local Wal-Mart. Take care all.

This question has been in the back of my mind for a while now. Peak makes BlueDEF Platinum, supposed to reduce deposits in the SCR. I haven't seen much about it on the interwebs, just people opinions. I wonder if this is a valid product or a solution in search of a problem.

Maybe Project Farm will do a video. :)

Who knows?

This looks to reduce the crystal deposits that gets built up in the decomposition tube and erosion of the DEF injector nozzle assembly. Long term use will tell but I've seen aftertreatment systems taken apart in 250,000mi Class 8 trucks with the SCR side still clean running on bulk DEF. This will not prevent the massive rocky buildup in a defective SCR system though.

cat pee, vs premium cat pee, hmmmmmmm

I think the most import thing to do with DEF systems is to delete them, but beyond that, keeping the tank full as opposed to empty will make the system last longer.

It's what I use in my '22 EcoD, good stuff that's supposed to prevent SCR injector buildup and the problems that can cause. It's a few dollars more but cheap peace of mind.

Rislone has a product out (Rislone DEF Crystal Clean) now that you add to your DEF Fluid that is supposed to clean out crystal deposits etc..

The SDS shows:
Alcohols, C12-16,ethoxylated CAS No.: 68551-12-2 10-15%
D-Glucopyranose,oligomers, decyl octylglycosides CAS No.: 68515-73-1 5-10%

I would assume BlueDEF Platinum would have the same chemicals or something similar.

Do we have any Chemists on BITOG that could shed light on these 2 chemicals?

In the premium version, the urea comes from grain fed, no hormone and humanly housed cows.

Clever marketing? Add some insignificant ingredient in a very small amount and call it premium?

A few years ago my mind went into neutral and I purchase some windshield wash fluid good clear down to 32 degrees. The results were predictable.
