This is the first time I've seen Premium Def, but is it worth paying extra money for? Saw Peak Def and Peak Premium Def at my local Wal-Mart. Take care all.
Why the heck not. Perhaps they are using pure spring water with the urea. Or, perhaps is has detergents to clean the injection system. There is no limit to the marketing department’s ideas.
This question has been in the back of my mind for a while now. Peak makes BlueDEF Platinum, supposed to reduce deposits in the SCR. I haven't seen much about it on the interwebs, just people opinions. I wonder if this is a valid product or a solution in search of a problem.
This looks to reduce the crystal deposits that gets built up in the decomposition tube and erosion of the DEF injector nozzle assembly. Long term use will tell but I've seen aftertreatment systems taken apart in 250,000mi Class 8 trucks with the SCR side still clean running on bulk DEF. This will not prevent the massive rocky buildup in a defective SCR system though.
I think the most import thing to do with DEF systems is to delete them, but beyond that, keeping the tank full as opposed to empty will make the system last longer.
It's what I use in my '22 EcoD, good stuff that's supposed to prevent SCR injector buildup and the problems that can cause. It's a few dollars more but cheap peace of mind.
So what’s the difference between the premium and non-premium DEF besides marketing? Looks like another way to milk more money based on providing warm and fuzzy feelings.
