I've only seen it at Advance Auto Parts. By the way, I'm only comparing it to the Pennzoil and Castrol High Mileage varients based on pour point. Havoline also lists CCS viscosity, but Pennzoil and Castrol don't. CCs of Havoline HM 10w30 is 6500 at -25C, which is equal to Motorcraft 10w30, but the Havoline HM is pretty beefy with a 12 CST viscosity at 100C. Pour point for the Havoline is -27F; Pennzoil High Mileage's pour point is only -22F.

Oh, Maxlife by fas has the best cold specs of the High Mileage oils, because it has a decent dose of PAO in it I think. plus, it is only 10.5 Cst (Cst or Cp; I always mix them up!) at 100C.

If you can get away with a conventional 10w30 over something other than a 3k/3m oci go for it. I'm pretty dedicated to XOCI ..so that leaves just about any common (or exceptional for that matter) passenger car conventional out of the picture.

Drew99GT ..I did a search in the used oil analysis section and haven't found too many xw-30 conventional used oil analysis in these engines over any decent mileage ..at least favorable ones. That is, like most of our used oil analysis, they tend to be under 5k and typically 3-3.5k. Perhaps I missed something in my search criteria. I think MNGolfer had some success with 10w30 Durablend ..but his oci's are so short, and his climate so severe, that it doesn't do much for me.

I have no choice. I'm not going to do 4-6 oil changes a year. Even with a cheap oil that adds up to too much $$ when weighed against something that can go 10-15k.

If you're doing 3m/3k OCI with Havoline you can go to RL and probably get 10k out of it and save money/time. You certainly can with Delvac 1 but you can't get that in an xw-30.

MarkC ..whatever you choose, Good Luck!!!
