Seriously, I'm sooo tired of obssessing over oil ( and mis-spelling words).

My Cherokee has 101500 miles on it, and 500 left to go in the second ARX rinse phase.

I used Castrol GTX and lately CHevron Supreme 10W30 always, and Napa Gold or Purolator Pure One filters.

Now, in a couple of weeks I'm going to pick the oil I will use from here on.
These are the ones I have narrowed it down to, and only these. Please let me have your opinions.

1. Stay the same: Chevron 10w30. easy to find and cheap and good stuff.
2. Havoline 10W30: easier to find and also cheap, almost identical to Chevron.
3. Chevron or Havoline HM 10W30. sort of easy to find, not too expensive, may keep my seals from beginning to leak, a bit thicker than regular 10W30.
4. Castrol Startup: Just out of curiosity and wanting engine protection, although my Jeep warms up fast.
5. Mobil 1 Truck&SUV 5W40 at 5k OCI.

Mobil 0w-40 and run it a very long period of time or miles .

Like a year or so

Your insoluables will be lower than with the Truck n Suv oil and better fuel mileage overall .

I agree with your choice, but why would the insolubles necessarily be lower? Strictly because of the LL spec.?

If your engine is the 4.0 six, they tend to like 40 weights. But ARX advises against synthetics if you are concerned about oil leaks. So that leaves out all the High Mileage oils, and the Mobil 1. I would suggest a group III "synthetic",like Rotella 0w40.

Mobil 1 0w-40
Mobil 1 T&S 5w-40
Rotella T 5w-40
GC 0w-30

Go with the Mobil DC GF-4

Go with Mobil 1 Truck and SUV for 10k or anything over 6 months. Which ever occurs last. That will give you something to focus on and you won't get too bored.

Mobil 1 0W40 or Amsoil ASL 5W30 changed once a year or every 10K which ever comes first.

From your list I pick #5 the Mobil 1 5W40 but I would change it every 10K or once a year which ever comes first.

If you don't drive many miles a year then I'd go with a dino such as your Chevron 10w30 and change it out every 6 months; no use throwing away good money on synthetic. However, if you put, say, 7K-miles/yr or more on your rig then syn might be your best bet.
