Jonny, After studying way too many OAOs from the VQ37 VVELs
I switched from the Nissan Ester to Redline. This engine
is hard on oil....especially the recommended Nissan Ester
and M1. There are plaenty of great UOA results to bee seen
on Dysons site, the Z forum and the Infiniti form using
Motul, Redline and Enos. The VVEl system genenerates lots
of heat very quickly whenever the pedal gets punched and
being a high performance engine, that's how most drive it.
True polyester based oil simply does the trick in this
engine.....and cheaper than the Nissan oil. If you love
your VQ37, put some true synthetic in it with a a Wix or
PureOne filter and drive the whiz out of it for 5K for
about $75/per OCI. I see you live in Nebraska, so I'm
assuming Verne at Infiniti of Omaha is your Sve Mgr....
show him your UOAs and tell him to start stocking some
good oil for the G37s and Subaru turbo's they sell now.
I can't stomach their $130 oil changes when the local
Nissan dealer does the same change for much less.
