Dead Fitbit Sense 2

My two year old Fitbit Sense 2 seems to have died and has nothing on the screen. I cleaned the contacts (both sides) as maybe it was not getting charged. No help.

I have pressed and held the button and sometimes get a single vibrate. Never anything on the screen.

Is it time for a new smart watch? Mainly for health reasons.

Everything I read online to reset the Fitbit says to press and hold the button until I see a logo. I have tried and never see a Fitbit logo.

I will say I am back to my Seiko watch that receives a time over the air signal to make sure it always has accurate time and I love the watch.

Kind of hoping a smart watch (a trusted brand) that supports reading glucose level will come come along.
 
I have been less than thrilled with mine. First one died and I am on number two. I run daily and average 15,000 steps a day, so I really like having one. I would love one that read glucose as well. I have used a Fit Bit for probably 10 years. When this one dies, I am getting a Garmin. Lots of runners love them.
 
Have you tried syncing it to the app on your phone. Mine did something like that. Syncing it woke it up.

Dumb question, but it is charged correct? possibly your cord is damaged and not charging. If it buzzes a little - might simply be out of battery.
 
I miss my sense...( the fitbit model that is...don't know if I ever had any sense to begin with.)
had 2, the first one lasted about a year, before the screen sproinged off the case...ribbon cable still connected, and working just fine..
bought another of the same model, wore it daily until I got a free Pixel Watch 2 with the purchase of my Pixel 8 pro.

the Sense was just a better product than the Pixel watch, which is of course why google is killing off fitbit slowly but surely.
I could legitimately get 4 FULL days...96 hrs...from a charge. with all the sensors running full chooch.
with the Pixel watch 2, if I start the day fully charged, by the time i get home from work 8-10 hrs later it's usually around 50%. I don't dare wear it to sleep, as it then won't last through the next workday...

If you are looking for a smart watch to pick up AFIB (I am in that group) you have to wear it most of the time including all night.
 
The magnets in the back of my wife's FitBit Sense 2 fell off last night. Thankfully still under warranty and they are sending her a new one.

Or get a FitBit Sense 2 every year or two. Until there is one that does glucose level.

I'm not sure but others may know. I went on the FitBit help forums last night and was surprised how many people are havign issues with the Sense 2.

Wife and I have Apple Watches. Reading this thread sounds like a train wreck for FitBit.
Wife's Watch 7 is now 3 model years old, mine is from this year Watch 9 because I traded in my Watch 7 at Best Buy for a new Watch 9 in Jan of 2024.

The reason being it was no cost to me, my Medicare plan paid the complete cost of the watch and I kept the trade in money. With that said another reason is I did have an issue right before I traded the old watch in. I recorded approximately 1000 ECGs on the last watch 7 that I owned, the recordings actually got me the care I needed when presented to the DR and averted any heart damage. However on that watch 7 I am not sure it was related to the amount of recordings I did but that ECG function did stop working properly after 2 years on the watch 7 that I traded in.

Also note because of a patent infringement case the newest APPLE watches will no longer measure o2 blood levels. My watch 9 does but the cut off was right after I bought it in Jan 2024 so that function still works fine. If this matters to you it bears consideration, it would matter to me. It also is worth it to pay attention to it as I think at some point it will be allowed to be used on the new watches. I just do not know the date/year since it doesnt affect me.

My wife's Versa 2 went black a couple weeks ago after she charged it to 100%. She got mad at it and bought an Apple Watch. The fitbit is more of a fitness watch while the Apple Watch is more of a smart watch. The AW could be a lot more intuitive about fitness features. I had my wife hold the button on her fitbit a lot time. Like a solid minute. It came back to life with 46% battery life.
 
I just ordered a PopGlory watch for $19.95 on Amazon. It seems to have good reviews and the only CON mentioned was it's not waterproof.

Even if I only get a year I will be happy. Hopefully a smartwatch that does all the current health stuff plus glucose monitoring is not far off.
