While shopping for heater hoses for my Saturn, I noticed that two of the four Gates heater hoses for my vehicle were cut-to-fit. With Dayco, only one of the hoses were cut-to-fit. Same with the Previa, Dayco seems to have more exact-fit hoses available than Gates. As a side note, does anyone know why Dayco measures hoses by their "trunk height" and not their overall length? I almost thought they were going to sell me the wrong hose when the listed length was 8" compared to Gates' 17" until I discovered that they were measuring differently.
However, Gates claims that their hoses are special as they are electrochemically resistant, while Dayco does not. Does anyone know anything about that Gates technology? Does it actually work or is it just marketing?
