Daughter - Front Page News

What a shock to find my daughter featured on our local newspaper front page story.

At 33, she received her diploma last night for her RN degree. It was a struggle and she was quoted thanking all the support (not $$) she received from her family. Nearly brought me to tears.

I/we grew up sans the "unconditional love" aspect, and my wife and I made a commitment not to be like this with our own kids.

Far from perfection, I am most proud when I here compliments about my kids strong work ethic, something they learned at home.

Through all the trials of life, an occasional small reward is so gratifying.

Nurses are some of the hardest working people in the Medical profession and do the tough work of "patient care" and are on the front line in interfacing with the patient.

My wife is one of those "Angels of Mercy" and our daughter, after two great boys, is going back to school as well to become a nurse.

Congrats to you and your daughter ! my wife is a nurse and it is a demanding job for sure. we need more people who can do the job like your daughter. I have always told my wife that I would not be able to be a nurse, so I am very grateful to those nurses we have out there.

Congratulations to your daughter and to your entire family! Getting an RN is the hardest nurse's degree and it says a lot that she went theis route. What a tribute to family values, hard work and personal effort.

In my multiple experiences going to the ER for my heart problem, the nurses have been the most helpful and easiest to talk to as far as what is going on. I am also a bad blood draw, and one nurse that saw me a lot knew to cover my arm with a hot towel and the vampire would get the vein on the first poke, instead of 14 pokings that another one tried without the hot towel.

When my cousin was born the doctor wouldn't talk to my grandma about the baby because she wasn't an "approved parent", the nurse walked out and said "I can't say for sure, but the population went up by 1 and its not a boy" and walked away. Perfect way of putting it.
