Spent a few minutes earlier online for one of those Dash Mat/Covers.
Found carpet, faux suede, polyster, velour, and there may have been another or two I've forgotten. Which are good? or not so good? or does it matter?

I have gone from vinylex to 303 and the reflections against the windshield are better, but still, I figure one of those dash things might be the way to go. I'll order online, Amazon, when I get certain items in the cart to pull the purchase trigger, when I'm ready. Interior is black.

If you like them than go for it, but I think they are ugly. If you get them spray them down with scotch guard protector to help prevent fading and what not.

I have used Dashmats in all my vehicles for the past 20+ years. They are outstanding. They reduce intense heat and glare, which is a big issue in TX. Also, they keep the UV rays from cracking your dashboard. When selling a used car or truck, people who look are amazed what good condition my dashes are in. There are many different styles and materials to choose from. I use UltiMat in my best vehicles, Velour mat in the work trucks.

I have a carpet type one on the neon...to cover/hide where the dash cracked. (I also have a spare dash i pulled from a junkyard if i ever sell the car)

I have 2 (4 total) that are 20+ years old in San Diego. They DO NOT fade. I like the original Dash Mat. Many imitators - buy the Dash Mat brand only.

Cheap insurance against a cracked dash and really cut down the sun glare.

I bought an original Dashmat for my WRX. $50 delivered. I dry fit it this afternoon and let it sit for a bit.

1) It does not fit perfectly. Not terrible, but the seams are too thick and make it ride up.

2) It sorta blocks the vis data display cowl. Will need this area well tacked down.

3) I took it back out this PM. I can't bring myself to stick it down with the loopy tape strips. Are they tough to remove?

Jury is still out.

Every vehicle for the last 15 years has gotten a dash mat, including my last two semi trucks. Like the protection for the dash and knocking down glare.

Thanks all - I ordered the DashMat (Amazon) and will see how it works. Most concerned knocking out reflections against the windshield. It's just getting to me more and more so have to try something more.

Ugly. Sorry, but that's IMO.

I did use a coverlay on an old MB once. It was the only car that I've had cracks on, and it was 20+ years old...

They use an oe looking (hard) plastic and are much more plausible. Sometimes they can even fit half decent without adhesive.

I've never had a glare issue in any of my vehicles from any dash material or dressing, so I can't comment on that.
