After giving the CT a bit more thought it reminds me of an old school cheese grater. IMO about the same build quality too.It has cutting edges if you think about it.

I watched a car reviewer peel a carrot using the edge of the door. After giving the CT a bit more thought it reminds me of an old school cheese grater. IMO about the same build quality too.
I saw that, hacking a carrot one might say.I watched a car reviewer peel a carrot using the edge of the door.
I want to like it...It's definitely different. I still don't like the look of it. I gave it enough time to grow on me. It hasn't.
Traditional truck buyers aren't buying Cybertrucks. The vast majority of Cybertruck buyers are first time truck buyers and in many cases previous Tesla owners. It's a different market. I very much doubt any of these EV trucks will be crossovers from truck owners in general unless they're people that just don't tow or never tow far.
They did some surveys of the demographics of Cybertruck buyers. There were a high amount of current Tesla owners that never considered owning a truck previously.Extremely insightful observation. I must concur with what I see here. These aren’t truck people buying them. These are folks getting something larger and more powerful than their previous Tesla. Tesla folks I know LOVE the blinding acceleration of the model 3. My head can’t take it, but I can’t argue - the driving dynamics allow for some superb throttle and merging control, much like driving a stick in 3rd at 45 mph, lane merging is beautiful in that EV. I can only image that the power and weight of the CT could be an intriguing steer. There seems to be a not a small “toy factor” going on with a couple CT owners I know. It’s a feature-rich, unique toy.
All that said in appreciation, I have zero desire to get one. My ecoboost 2.7 soldiers on for now while continuing to watch for maybe a smaller DD.
Soon to be doing this:I never hated the cyber truck. It’s not for me but it is unique, it’s also way out of my price class. I can see it getting “tired looking” over the long term but who knows with SUV/pickup styles.
Well whoever has this one had EVERY VEHICLE in the Myrtle Beach Costco parking lot stopping or slowing to a crawl to check it out. … and guess what?
As my wife and I got out of our SUV to go into Costco in the next parking lane from where the truck was she quickly started waking back to the next lane away from the Costco entrance to where the truck was to get a photo! Got annoyed of yet another car stopping to look at it while she wanted to take a photo! Thus is unlike my wife to take a photo of a vehicle!

I did like the white wrap better than the stainless look and could imagine nice tan beach babes hopping in during the summer![]()
It gets attention, that is for sure, for now anyway. As I stare at it, I think to myself, wow, I guess it's really a problem to bend that stainless steel into nice curved and flowing lines.Saw a boatload of CT the last few days. Leaving Fremont on trailers for delivery. At Sunnyvale store unloading others.
Not how I would spend that kinda money.
Ha-ha, I have an idea for a side-by-side test
Line up my pal's rusty, '97 F-150, my '05 Ranger and a CT.
Have a mixed batch of tools, furniture and OPE.... and see what fits.
Vehicles come up on BITOG for a variety of reasons, not just for the oils they use.
Having an opinion on a big news making vehicle like a CT, doesn't necessarily qualify one as a "Karen" (see post #92).
The design features of the CT appear to me to be gratuitous and without purpose.
Then again, I haven't gone out of my way to seek details. I've seen comparative "frunk shots" of all the E-truck offerings.
I have not seen the rear end at all.
Always wondered if that, stealth, 4WD, and Gorilla glass were not bridges to military sales … but like others - let the “me 1st” iPhone consumer get the kinks out ?Ha-ha, I have an idea for a side-by-side test

I fear the shock and disappointment will exceed that of a Chevy Avalanche I'd see closeup while walking the dog.
The entirely inappropriate plastic used in that GM gem supported the growth of the dust trees drop.
I now know why Tesla selected stainless steel! ...a new kind of stainless steel which is hard to keep clean, at that!
Can't beat progress.
