So I buzz over to the Saratoga Post Office an hour ago to drop off an important letter. Leaving I hold the door for a few folks; one guy walks over to a Cybertruck...
"Hey! Nice Cybertruck! How do you like it?" He sez, "Get in."

The thing is spacious and the seats are very good. I asked if I could ask a few pointed questions; he said sure.
Q: "Why would anyone buy this thing, especially for $100 large plus the governor's tax, etc?" A: "I liked the angular shape and wanted an electric vehicle." I said, "You have to agree when it 1st came out no one knew whether Elon was kidding or not..." He laughed, "Yeah."
Q: "Did you buy it as a leisure vehicle, cuz you wanted it, or as a truck?" A: "Both. It replaced my Ridgeline." I wasn't ready for this answer; I was pleasantly surprised.
Q: "Why would you spend $100K on this?" A: "It was actually $80K Dual Motor, not the "Founder's Edition or Cyberbeast with 3 motors."
Q: "Do you like it?" A: "I love it. Go drive one."

I mentioned the drive-by-wire steering; he cranked the wheel 180* and said, "Look at the back wheel." I already knew about the 4 wheel steering.
He said he may wrap it and put bigger tires on, "There's too many out there..."

We were walking the dogs last evening and one street behind us a CT was sitting along the curb with the front light bar thing on. I walked over to the driver's door, the guy put the window down and I just asked him how he likes it, He said he loves it. How long have you had it? A week. Do you live here? No just picking up my son we live a couple of streets over. It had the kid fingerprints on the back door edges people talk about. They're everywhere. It's just strange to look at, like your mind can't make sense of the angles and dimensions.

Saw ones of these over at my local Walmart parking lot. I joked to my friend that "well they have to shop at Walmart because they're paying for the CyberTruck.." lol.. It is definitely odd looking in person, but I did notice that massive wiper blade on the front windshield!

They’re kind of like the Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer. For whatever reason, they photograph HORRIBLY, but I think they look alright in person. But the last Cybertruck I could get close too was wrapped satin black.

They’re becoming more common here. I’m starting to think a well done wrap is a good idea, the raw stainless surface seems to require a lot of TLC to look good consistently. A Ridgeline is a good thing to replace with a CT-they can’t haul a lot either…
It seems that wrapping a Cybertruck can damage the stainless steel. I've read this from a couple of sources. Here's one:

I like that the CT has an unusual shape, and I like the visuals presented by some of the wraps I've seen. It's a somewhat spendy piece of automotive art.

Not the prettiest but it wasn't meant to win an aesthetics prize. Great experience for you, Jeff. Over the last 6 months there have been a noticeable number of them on the roads. I would like to sit in one and take one for a spin! They certainly catch your eye! I would take on over the previously mentioned Ridgeline for sure.

Nice of the gentleman to let you experience it. Not for me, but as long as he likes it, that's really all that matters.

My adult son had a similar parking lot experience getting off work at Costco 3 weeks ago - a ride in a Delorean!

They are everywhere in WA state. There is a purple one and a green one I see around here weekly and I generally see the stock ones daily.

There are two here on base. It is not for me because of what I tow, but if the people who buy them enjoy them then more power to them.

I have sat in one and I found it comfortable, I just don't care for how they look.
