The Murano is the newest addition to my stable. It has a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and 80K on the odometer. Factory information indicates the fluid is filled for life unless contamination is detected. Some owners say the fluid should be changed every 60K. The fluid is $10 per quart, and requires 11 qts for a complete exchange. I'm not too familiar with the internals of the transmission and whether it has any clutch packs. What are your feelings about CVT maintenance? I can't remember seeing a lot of discussion here on CVTs. How is their durability overall, compared with geared transmissions?
