Here is a sampling of the filters I cut a couple of weeks ago. All are theoretically the same.

I finally uploaded the detailed pics and comments
This one is a real winner for stupid anti-drain valve

and this one for a non-working bypass valve

In general, the most expensive item may not be the best built. Donaldson is not the most expensive filter but it has the highest quality. Donaldson has good reputation for high quality filter and this comparison confirms that.

widman, as usual, your posts are right on point, with well-thoughtout methods and reasoning. Bolivians are lucky to have someone of your caliber looking out for them.

Please come to the US and take over Jiffy Lube.

Thanks so much for your effort widman. I am using a cartridge filter (WIX) and get to see the element each time I change it.

Thank you Widman. Your work is much appreciated. Your assessment of the Toyota filter is right on the money based on my experience with a Tundra V-8 too. Have you ever cut open a K&N filter? I have trouble with start-up rattle noise with that one too.
