92 D250 HD with 5.9 gas V-8 engine. It has the single exhaust that needs replacement up to converter. I was looking at parts to do it myself vs having a shop do it. Experiences of those who have had a shop do theirs would be appreciated. Problem is the converter was welded in as a replacement by the previous owner. So I don't know if the stock stuff will bolt on easily. I'm sure I could adapt it up if need be. But Sometimes that can be a pain to deal with. I was thinking stainless because of the longevity aspect. I want this system to last for awhile.

I'm an experienced mechanic, but don't have experience with shops doing the work from scratch.

The Borla will outlast the Magnaflow as it's 100% 304 vs. 409 stainless for the magnaflow (if either company even makes a system for this truck).

I had a local company make me a 3.5", all 304 stainless, y-pipe back system (using a Borla XR1 muffler) since NO manufacturer made exactly what I wanted (and HOW I wanted it).
I am VERY happy with it, despite it being a hair too loud.

do they use road salt where you live? if not, just get plain old aluminized. just be sure to have them paint over their welds.

I'm a big advocate of custom fabricated IF you know a quality shop.

Hit up a local auto show and ask a few hot rodders. They'll tell you who the 'good guys' are.
