Saw this at the local dealer and made the mistake of stopping and looking at it. 2008 STS, 1-owner. Timing chains replaced by dealer
Like new inside and out, runs smooth as a sewing machine. The color is what Cadillac called "Sunset Blue" and depending on how the light hits it can look blue, bronze, green or gray--or any shade in between.

My initial impression of the GM 3.6 DI vs the Chrysler Pentastar that was in my 300:

1. The GM engine is noisier at idle--probably because of the high pressure direct injectors clicking.

2. The Pentastar is smoother at idle.

3. The GM engine has better low end torque.

4. Both engines equally smooth above idle, tip in, and cruising.

5. GM engine has a much more throaty sound at WOT.

6. Pentastar much better MPG.

My deepest sympathies for replacing the Crown Vic with a Cadillac. The Crown Vic would have outlasted the Caddy second to none.

nice caddy.

That airbag texture is something i might get annoyed at tho. Never drove the STS, only CTS and i liked them.

The Audi took its place.

The Crown Vic would have outlasted this car, but you'll be much happier behind the wheel in this.

+1. I was a service advisor at a Caddy shop. Those STSs are less than reliable.

That is a nice color, and it's complemented by a wonderful interior. What kind of mpg are you getting? Is this the same 3.6 engine that GM puts in the modern Buick LaCrosse?

My son has a 2008 Cadillac CTS with 130,000 miles. It's been good. Cam chain set replaced by dealer early on. All wheel bearings have failed and been replaced. 3 out of 4 under warranty. Keep an eye on the oil level, they consume some through the PCV system. I'd buy one.

I had the V8 version of that STS (but black color) and it was a trouble free car for the 67k miles my wife drove it. The chains didn't need replacing on the V8's..but my 2008 CTS with the 3.6DI did.

Not everyone is interested in driving a car forever and a Crown Vic unfortunately never was that nice to begin with. Not sure the two are ven comparable? The Town Car is something is quite nice IMHO for limo rides I got from Manhattan>La Guardia when I commuted via limo/plane. The Crown Vic compartive toilet.

Congrats to OP!
