Need to find a smaller used crossover for my GF's dad. Budget 15k. As new as possible. Has AWD. A rav4 or a CRV would be the default selection, but there are so many other choices now. Anyone have experience with Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, or something else?

If youre looking at price point, and newer, look for the Nissan Rogue Sport with AWD (Nissan Qashqai in Canada)
I've sold quite a few used Qashqais and they do well as an AWD Compact CUV.
The Mazda's are very nice, but will be more money.

Right. Example: https://nissanofnewrochelle.a5.prod...-Used-2017-Nissan-Rogue-Sport-New-Rochelle-NY
Many other examples too - CPO under $15k and 20k miles. Seems surprisingly low-priced, actually. Heck a couple of 2019s with ~30k, even.
Cars.com search
*I'm assuming these newer models don't have CVT issues

Our ‘17 CX5 has been flawless so far.

Some of the crossover prices I’ve seen lately have been up there. With a budget of $15k and wanting as new as possible, it will depend on what is meant by new. In general, the used car market is crazy right now.

I have a couple of older Nissans that are pre CVT so I don't have any problems. Jatco CVT failures are posted every day in the Nissan sedan groups I belong to. More complaints than anything else. So I didn't consider the Rogue or Murano. But are they the same? Do they have the same problems as the sedans?
