I purchased this filter for my MG Midget but it was apparantly the wrong one (years ago) so I decided to crack'er open. Very well made filter IMHO...to bad it didnt fit. Spring loaded anti-drainback valve! Coil spring to hold filter in place, coil spring relief valve. Now on another note, I did get the correct Crossland filter and opened it to my dismay....FRAM

Could be Mann or Mahle. The metal disk where the oil flows into the filter itself looks very similar to Mann products.

Boy im not happy how them return holes are only on the bottom of the center tube, whats up with that design?

glue looks good

i've never seen that before either. I would expect vertical grooves in the center tube for oil to reach the holes from the opposite area of the element.

It's like that all the way around right??

i would not like that at all,i probably would not use that filter but thats me.

Yes, all the way around, only about 1/3 the tube length

Now I understand the source +FIAAM is a very well known brand Europe....I think until recently they focused solely on electrical items..such as horns, sensors, ect...If you have an Alfa or FIAT, or Peugeot, Citroen, you'll definitely see +FIAAM items under the hood.
