Does anyone know what type of fluid goes into an '07 Crossfire 6sp?

Manual calls for MB 236.2, but states SAE 5W-20 may be substituted, as long as it meets API SL or GF3.

If this means I can use regular 5W-20 engine oil, I'll go with a high-end syn. Amsoil transmission fluid or Redline MTL would normally be my choice, but doesn't look like it's spe'd for this vehicle.

Thanks in advance guys.

236.2 fluids are basically Type A suffix A ATFs that also conform to additional requirements specified by MB (The approval was additive specific from one company, so you see the concept is not new). Those fluids are certainly still available but I'm not sure about the USA. There were certain DEXRON-II fluids that did qualify in later years but you would probably be hard pressed to find a genuine one.
