I always get great advice from this site so here goes, i ordered some riding boots and a jacket from a motorcycle company i never heard of and will never order from them again ahha. I ordered them on oct. 18 and everytime i call them to find out where they are, they keep telling me their still on backorder.

I guess my question is should i call my credit card company up and cancel this payment, i mean this is kind of ridiculous isn't it?

Don't buy stuff from a company you don't know. This is the same for online & mail order places.

Trey,

Call the 1-800 phone # on the back of your credit card ASAP. Tell them what happened and you want to 'dispute' that charge on your card. The credit card company will still require payment for all the other stuff you bought.

Did you call the company and ask about your boots & jacket?? Some mail order companies will charge your CC....even thought the merchandise you wanted is back ordered. When I had a 5.0 Mustang I bought headers from a company in CA, they charged my CC...and shipped the headers 6 weeks later.

In some states, it is illegal for the company to charge your credit card until the time when the item is going to be shipped to you.

I would call and cancel the order. At this time, ask if your credit card has been charged. If it has, ask for a refund.

After attempting this, if you have been charged and they refuse to refund the amount to your credit card - then you can contact your credit card company and dispute the charge.

so yes to give an update, they did charge my credit card, i called my credit card company and cancelled payment. so all should be ok now.

One thing you or others here on site might want to do: You can check up on an account for either Visa or Master Cards here. Then any time you can check the status and charges of your card. Some items will be on there by the time you get home from using the cards.

Master Card

Visa Card

Trey - the retailer may challenge your disputing the charge. It wouldn't hurt to write a letter indicating that you have cancelled the order due to non-delivery of goods promised. Also tell them you requested the credit from the issuing bank. Usually the bank will want you to ask the retailer first to credit the non-fulfilled purchase. Just FYI...
