Do any of you struggle with the feeling that if you are using a brand of oil that also produces gasoline that you prefer to use their gas along with their motor oil? Like Pennzoil Sell…Castrol GTX BP…Mobil  Mobil.

And so some of you prefer to use brands that aren’t affiliated with a brand of gas such as Valvoline or some of the other brands like Amsoil , etc..

Never really thought about it. Maybe I should try some Formula Shell. I usually fill up with Shell gas.

I never gave it much thought. After seeing the same tanker that drops gas at Shell drop gas a few miles away I buy gas for the best price now. I use FI cleaner and treat the gas with MMO so I'm really not concerned about the additives that might be contained in a better gas. Also around here several stations were fined for pumping regular gas and charging for mid grade or even premium. JMO

Never occurred to me.

It seems like this may be more of a "brand loyalist" thing, and for both gas and oil, I buy based on a combination of price and convenience.

Hum... no, I've purchased Shell gas for a long time, but I've never had a strong desire to use SOPUS oil products any more than any other brand. I guess I would only consider this if I were a very brand loyal type person.

Somewhat. I 'like' using Petro-Canada gas, and they make excellent oil products that I have used with success at the same time. I've also used Canadian Tire gas and oil products at the same time.

But I buy based on price and convinience mostly, so these aren't 'deliberate' decisions....but I totally get where you are coming from.

No. I've evolved the oil I use after too much time studying here and brands of fuel haven't made it onto my radar from that standpoint. I can only think of 3 "Top Tier" suppliers in my area, so less choice to be concerned about.

I mostly buy Shell or BP gas as they are only a half mile from home, my usual oils are Castrol, Motorcraft or Mobil 1... I haven't bought Exxon gas since I found it caused bucking at low speed in a 5.0 Mustang I owned, that was 1996... Might use it as a weed killer...

Not even slightly. I use RLI in the engine sump and Exxon or Shell in the fuel tank without even a second thought.

I want the best product at a 'REASONABLE' price/value, if permitted by my psyche at purchase for fuel or oil time.
