From the 2012 Corvette owners manual....

"Engine Oil
Use only engine oil licensed to the dexos1 specfication, or equivalent,
of the proper SAE viscosity grade. ACDelco dexos1 Synthetic Blend is
recommended. See Engine Oil on page 10‑14."

I doubt that they are getting a blend FF, but would be interested to see what it is.

That quote just means that a blend is permissible to be used.

Sure, the Corvette get M1 for its factory fill, but I'd bet that's because Mobil is paying GM for the right to advertise that they are the factory fill for the Corvette.

Honestly, most Corvettes are owned by old guys that baby them like you wouldn't believe and change the oil far more often than is necessary, so there's no reason a blend wouldn't be just fine.

Now your punk kids with their souped up Hondas that beat they daylights out of them, they're the ones that should be runnning synthetic, but they're running cheap ST from Walmart with an OCOD.

My moms new husband has an 07 Vette, he changes the Mobil 1 every 6 months whether he has 100 or 1,000 miles on it

He also gets over $1,000 worth of service on his Honda outboard every year after less than 10 hours of use.

Someday ask him if he likes wasting a valuable natural resourse.

He sounds like the kind of guy who doesn't give a flying thing about what he's wasting so long as his toys are in good condition and ready to be played with. If my mom were with a guy like that I would hope that he treats her the same way and not ask too many questions.

If it meets dexos1 requirements, it meets dexos1 requirements.

Quite a few blends meet dexos1 requirements, like Durablend, Pennzoil Synthetic Blend, Castrol Synblend, and QS Enhanced Durability.

Then you have the lower tier synthetics (QSUD, Synpower/NAPA syn, Mobil Super Synthetic) that are dexos1 as well

Remember that dexos1 is less stringent than 4718M which did have to be synthetic. Also, dexos isn't really a tough performance specification as it is an unearned income cash grab by GM.

My guess is that the OLM has been recalibrated as well (shorter OCI suggestions using the blend instead of full syn)

His answer would be "NO, I paid for the oil and I used the oil"
