Precisely, this is the total opposite outcome, because they didn't just shoot him when he started charging them with the knife.

This is not my work world. I really don't police my grammar or typing work. I type on my mobile device and not worry. Not so with my work.

Shoot him. Yes.
Go hear him? No.
Disable him. Immobilize him.
Does it take 46 bullets for that?
 
The bottom line is that the suspect was ordered to drop the knife repeatedly and refused to do so.

Refusing to follow such orders and threatening the officers and the general public will get you shot and killed.

Again the ONLY reason this is in the controlled media is because they are attempting to make a racial issue of it. If this was a white hobo this thread wouldn't even exist. Of course the story would have never made it to national media or probably any media.

While it seems like a lot of bullets, the end is that the suspect was controlled and effectively rendered unable to injure or kill officers or other citizens.

A side note since the suspect is dead he will never again pose a threat to the general public. I'm glad for that.

All this person had to do was drop that knife and he would still be alive today. It was his decision his choice.

I suppose they could have (bean) bagged him... That is IF the situation allowed for it's use AND the department had funding for such equipment and they were properly trained on it's use and tactics. Not all situations call for it's use and not all departments are equipped with all forms of less lethal equipment.

And all the perp had to do was take responsibility for his own actions, but noooo, he had to be a bad guy with threatening moves with a lethal weapon and not obey simple orders.

I see chiks is now an expert in body language, police tactics, and criminal psychology. I am really impressed.

they have it, called for it, and the chief "couldn't get in the locked storage it was in" LOL. It just keeps getting better and better.

To those of you who would like to put chiks on patrol on a night shift with two bullets, this situation had no officer going one on one with an armed knifeman. There was a buttload of cops there AND a dog!!!

So you're willing to step up to the plate and disarm a knife wielding man whilst a butt load of cops watch you?

I think you know where that kind of situation can go (as evidenced by the videos in this thread)

The guy had 20 minutes. All that time to drop the knife. But he didn't. They didn't *want* to shoot him. If they did, the guy wouldn't of had those 20 minutes.

We have had some pretty egregious killings of civilians by cops around here. The prosecutors need to grow a spine and start jailing these killers. The cop that killed the kid on the ground did get a slap on the wrist. Most get a paid vacation.

By the way, situations like these are routinely observed in the cop world. They are called "encounters" where the cops do not have to explain to anybody why the perp was killed, nor any administrative actions taken. In essence, these actions are carried out by the graces of the higher ups, including the ruling political figures in the region. There definitely is more to it than meets the eyes, gentlemen
