Well, ive had enuff of my Kumho A/T Road Ventures 325/60/18's on my Silverado, Ive decided to try Cooper Discoverer AT/3. has anyone else tried these yet ? your thoughts ? im going down in size to a 275/65/18 The Kumho has been a great tire, i just got them to wide (13') contact patch.. true mpg killer. i will post my thoughts after install and a few miles.

yes, lots of pics. but ive never figured out how to load stuff onto this site.. the Kumhos are still on the truck, the Coopers are ordered.

I've always liked the Cooper ATR's. The AT-3's are replacing them. They are my next tire for my truck.

i should have them installed tomorrow or Wednesday, im sure there going to be a improvement over those wide monsters on my truck now.

275/65/18 installed today. measures 31 inches top to bottom, A DECREASE OF 2 inches from the 325/60/18 that were on the truck, i broke out my power programer and made the adjustments to my computer and verified correct speed with my GPS. First impressions: the Cooper AT/3 is whisper quiet, there not avery aggresive looking A/T tire, i think they look more like a aggressive all season tire than anything. I got the 6 plys and there smooth as silk traveling down the road.. Last night i resat my mpg meter and at 55mph i was getting around 18 on the highway with the 33's, i did the same test with the new tires and it was reading 22.9mpg . when adverse conditions and more miles are logged i will post up more opinions. My truck deffinately does not look as tuff with these tires installed, but i will take the ride comfort and increased miliage over apperances, i have little doubt that these tires will handle Indiana weather just fine.
Have you corrected for the odometer error caused by oversized tires? The larger diameter tires make fewer revolutions to cover a mile, and the odometer records fewer miles than you actually travel. When you calculate miles per gallon, you are using a number for fewer miles than you've actually run.
And, oversized tires raises the effective gear ratio. (Fewer revolutions per mile is just like changing the rear end gear ratio with stock tires.) This may have the effect of causing the transmission to downshift more often and cause the engine to burn more gas.

correct. EVERYTHING has been corrected, and after i make the corrections i verify with GPS for speed. I have a superchips, let me tell you that thing has paid for itself..
