I'm thinking about getting these Cooper tires. The specs read that they are "Excellent Highway Performance." This is what I'm mainly looking for. At this price ($114 each/60K mile warranty) how could I pass them up? Anyone have any experience with these tires? I don't want them if they're going to make a lot of road noise. The tread depth is 14/32nds. That's a lot of tread. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Believe they are the old AT's that are now made for Walmart only. We put 2 sets P and LT on the Frontier and Ram 2500 from Walmart. They do fine.

The new AT's are the AT3 4s and AT3 XLT

I had nothing but problems with Cooper's from premature cracking, vibration issues and ply separations. I have to say however they do stand behind their tires.

Looks like the old Discoverer At3 design. Never owned them myself but had lots of customer complaints of noise and poor wet weather performance when I was still at the dealership.

For an affordable all season I’d prefer the General HTS60 or Firestone HT2.

I had a set of those on the Sierra. As they wore down, the noise increased much more than I expected. No issues with the tires as far as cracking or vibration or failure.

It may mean "Excellent Highway Performance" for All Terrain tire.
If you do not need AT capabilities why bother? Just for price?

Just took a set of the AT3's off my Ranger.
Got close to 50K out of them and they still had decent tread.
Only problem was that the sidewalls started dry rotting off of them.
Replaced with a set of Uniroyal Laredo's for about half the cost.
I didn't really need A/T's, and I figured that the cheaper tire would be as serviceable for my purposes.
The thing that I noticed immediately was that I could hear the engine of the truck while driving and I no longer had to crank the stereo.

Coopers have been great on the H3.

I've had several sets of Cooper Discoveries over the years. Great service from them.

The tread pattern is similar to the Starfire Solarus AP's I bought in 265/70/17 flavor for my 2019 Ram 1500 classic this spring. They're also a cooper brand. I scored those for $88/ea 4-5 months ago through wally online. Love them.

I'm kind of facing a dilemma here. I currently have 245/70/17 tires on my truck. The 265/70/17 (60K mile warranty) Coopers are $114 each. The 245/70/17 (55K mile warranty) Coopers are $134 each. I know how to do the math, and am leaning towards the 265's. But, will they throw my speedometer off much, and decrease my mileage?
Decisions, decisions! 🤷‍♂️

had my (plus 1) Cooper Evolution 275 18’s rotated first time today … smooth ride home …

had them on my fronty 4 wd good for the money BUT i know have coopers snow tires! wear will be faster but the discoverers did not last but 30xxx + i wanted more snow traction in Pa winters. the snow tire i got ride + handle well + are fairly quiet. i downsized because smaller narrower + lighter tyres are better in snow + they are lighter for better mpgs, i am still in the proper load range for my needs though

Thanks RVW.
I went ahead and ordered the Cooper tires. They will be delivered here, to my front door, next Wed. 9/22/2021.
My cousin is the manager at my local WM auto service center. For $57.07 he will install them, lifetime rotate and balance, valve stems, and road hazard warranty.
Well, if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all!
I'm not getting the Cooper tires. My cousin checked with Cooper on a recall he had done before on several sets of Cooper tires. And, the tires I was going to order is in that category. I was assured if anything happened to them that Cooper would replace them FREE of charge. I decided I didn't want to take a chance.
So, I have decided to purchase the Kumho Crugen HT51 All-Season Tire in 245/70R17. It has a 70K mile warranty (which I like a lot).
Has anyone else bought Kumho tires before? Opinions?

I think you dodged a bullet. I bought a set of these when they were on clearance less than $400 for a set of 4...245/70r16 for my Sorento...they could never balance them. I even took them to a tire specialty shop to have them road force balanced...no good especially on 1...the road force was something like 8 or 10lb (dont' exactly remember) even after balancing. But since I bought them on clearance, I could not return or exchange them. The cheap overseas tires I had beforehand balance way better than these. Having said that, the traction is quiet good in all weather conditions...don't about snow yet. For an AT tire, the noise is low and it handles quite well for a truck tire. The tread wear is good...it seems it will go to 50,000 miles with proper maintenance. Just has that annoying shake starting at about 65mph.

I had a set of Kumho TA71 on my old Escort beater car a few years back. They rode smooth and were very quiet. About any tire was a 70k mile tire on that lightweight car so idk if tread wear was really great or not.

I really don’t have anything bad to say about any of the major Korean tire brands. Kumho, Hankook or Nexen, they seem to have more hits than misses as far as product line. Definitely have shown to be of a higher quality tier than most Chinese brands.

I don’t think you would have been happy with the Coopers anyway. They tend to be rather noisy.
