Welp, I just retired my Cooper Discoverer True North's at 48,500 miles on the 2021 Chevy Equinox. They were done...probably done at 45,000-ish. I ran them from late November/early December to late March/early April in Michigan. Fantastic tires! I will buy them again when I purchase my 2027 Equinox later this year. Real snow tires and AWD are an amazing combination! Premium "all season" tires are good, but not as good as real snow tires. I don't care what anybody says. I drove confidently on icy surfaces that were unsafe to walk on. LOL. Just my $0.02.

I had a set for my daughter's FWD Fusion and they were indeed excellent winter tires.
Well worth consideration for anyone who's in need of real snow tires.

If you can use studs, these come factory studded. Triangle pattern stud on outside, for turning, oval pattern on center of tread for going and stopping. Buying another set this fall. These were on for 8 winters. Tread still at 8/32nds. Studs are rounded now. Hakk 9 SUV. Picture when new.

Absolutely nothing beats a quality snow tire for winter driving conditions !
I don't care how much people Bragg about how good the Michelin cross climates are ! they are a really good four season tire , but have there limits as well .

AWD gives you confidence because it keeps you from getting stuck or spinning the wheels at stop lights, but it doesn't help at all when it comes to stopping or an avoidance maneuver.

When I bought my first X5 it had a brand new set of Toyo A/Ts on it. I thought it would be fine in the snow but they just don't compare. Even when the A/Ts were new there was no comparison to the Blizzaks I put on a couple winters later.

All the data I've seen on the All Weather is that they are just the same compromise as All Season tires, except leaning more towards snow performance at the cost of dry and wet performance. Meanwhile once they get worn down a bit they lose their winter performance. I'm happy to be educated on this if there's more to the story.

Eight winters! Wow, I have never had a set of studless tires last that long. (Though I'm not sure how many miles you drive, typically I finish off a set of studless tires in 20-25k miles before they are no good in snow anymore.)
