All cars come from the factory with coolant stop leak. Once the fluid has been changed, you remove the stop leak. It is worth a shot to put it in but you need to find out if that is coming from the water pump weep hole first.
Never heard of this before.
That weep hole drip would be your indication that your water pump needs to be replaced. Any chain store type repair shop can throw it up on a lift and tell you really fast.
Yeah, exactly. I will try taking it to the my mechanic sooner than later.
I know this is more worrisome than oil. This is coming from someone who bought a 10 yo LS430 and found zero coolant in the reservoir and radiator to be seen.
Truly, it is. Oddly enough, I placed white cardboard under the car and I no longer see any coolant drip marks. . . I will keep an eye on it for a few more days. Last time I changed the water pump was 7 years ago, not sure what brand of pump it was as the mech did it.
100% with this vehicle it was evaporation over 10 years.
Corolla has the coolant evap effect as well.
One never knows—could your coolant have been from a service, just splashed down there?
I did open the radiator cap up, some did drip down, but not that much. It COULD be that but I do not want to risk the biscuit. However, before that, I was under the car and I saw fresh coolant streaks, even though I cleaned them last oil change.
Main thing if it doesn’t come back don’t worry. If reservoir is low then worth follow up.
Eyes are on this, thank you.
But I get it. Water anywhere (house, driveway, etc) does get my attention…good luck.
Same here, always something to look into and follow up on.
I would never use stop leak. Did it on a B27F Volvo, I was young. Bad results
I am against this as well, it's a temp solution not a permanent one.
