I just replaced my Pilot Sport PS2's with the new extreme contact DW. I was trying to save $100 per tire. Once these wear out PS2's are going back on.

My last set of PS2's lasted 13 months - that is $100 a month in tires. But they were quiet, and stuck like glue. Maybe when these wear out there will be another option.

These new tires are not loud, but the tread noise is annoying. The sidewalls are soft and they holler going around tight turns.

OTOH the BMW has ContiTouringContacts and they have held up well. Quiet, sticky and look like they will last about 30k. i would buy them again for that car.

Huh? The Destiny has been around much longer then the Primacy MX and is a proven tire, especially in winter conditions. I'll take them any day over the Primacy. They have 11/32 of tread.

I am not familiar with snow, but the Primacy is newer technology. It is the top-rated tire by TireRack consumers, TireRack professional testing and Consumer Reports. #1 in all 3 categories. That's darn impressive, as it's rare that you can have all 3 sources agree on a single tire being #1.

Well, I found out some more info - the problem appears to be an OEM defect with late model Impalas. There is a TSB for excessive rear camber. The OEM setup doesn't have enough range to get the camber correct. Many people on Edmunds have reported tires worn into the cords on the back after 10,000 miles, resulting in tire blowouts.

I had the tires looked at today and they are severely cupped. The manager at Discount said the cupping and wear patter have set into the tires from the prior alignment issues and it's not necessarily a safety concern, but a ride and noise concern.

I'll see how new tires start wearing before I do anything else, given that the alignment is now perfect.

We have them on our C300 and I don't think they're all that bad. The title of single worst tire would have to go to Michelin MXV4+ Energy in my book.

Wearing very nicely on my wife's 08 VW. She will likely get 60k out of them without issue, all city driving.

IMO, given the fact that my wear problems are a result of prior alignment issues, I don't think these tires are really that bad. They corner good and snow performance has been better then expected. However, ride quality is not great IMO, but some of that is likely from the cupping.
