They were very popular and the later years were quite reliable. It was the best of both worlds, comfort of a Caddy but in a smaller and more fuel efficient package. The 3.1 V6 was very stout and was used in many other GM vehicles including (but not limited to) Beretta, Z24, Sunbird etc.
Just out of high school, I told myself I'm either getting a new '89 Olds Cutlass Supreme or a Cavalier Z24.
Came to the quick realization my broke a** wasn't going to get either.
