Confused on proper fluid for 2020 AMG C63 E-Diff

I went to the Red Line site, used their recommendation which was just 75w140. Not the 75w140NS. But if I go to ECS, Fcp, etc they all have different oil recommendations ranging from 75w90NS to 75w140NS, etc.

I filled with 75w140 Redline after some more research but I am getting some grinding on tight full lock slow turns from the differential. I've emailed them today and will hopefully hear back soon.

At this point, I think I might just go to the dealer and pickup up the super overpriced fluids from there.

False alarm folks.

No unusual noise once the car is warmed up. It might also just be that new fluid needs to be “broken - in”. Apparently it’s needs to break in and the electronics recalibrate because e-diff things.

What are “e-diff” things?
On BMW for example you have to “tell” ECU you changed transfer case fluid so it operates differently and resets clock, but there is no any noise or breaking in.
E-diff is electronic LSD within differential or is it just using brakes to mimic LSD?

Yeah my Macan was the same way, TC fluid change needed recalibration and you can hear tons of mechanical noises happening under the car when it took the command after five tries.

On the AMG, there is a calibration procedure for the rear differential but you don’t have to do it apparently which is good because my $890 scanner doesn’t have the option. The AMG ediff is a little weird just like the 9 speed transmission is a little weird in that it’s partial torque converter and partial dual clutch.

The AMG ediff is partially mechanical LSD with a bunch of electronic wizardry taking place.

Ok. So it is actual e-diff.

Sounds like the electro-mechanical LSD of certain BMW M models.

Yeah I’m sure Magna, ZF, or one of the other big firms makes it for them. PDK in the Porsche Macan is really an Audi unit and the PDK in the 911 or 718 are made and most likely designed by ZF.
