conflicting OM manual trans fluid recommendation

I changed it out tonight. Shifts very smooth with no grinds b/t gears.

Thank you for the advice Mr.MolaKule. I didn't know that the Pennzoil Synchromesh was 9.3 cSt. I guess if I start having any problems, I'll go with the redline MT-90.

What kind of problems may I run into with the thin PZ sychro?

Thanks

Oh, maybe a little more noise than normal, some shift up or shift down problems when the oil heats up, and slightly more wear than with a thicker oil.

The AW/EP add pack is about the same as Amsoil's, RP LT, and the Nissan fluid.

But try it and let us know down the road how it's doing.

I'll be on the lookout.
GM Synchromesh is ridiculously expensive, as well as Castrol Syntorq, if you can find it. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-100 dollars/gallon.

Will update if I have any shifting problems on long trips, etc when the transmission fluid warms up. Haven't been on any sort of lengthy trip as I'm just now breaking in the new engine. But the daily high around here in Baton Rouge has been averaging in the low 90's.

So far so good. No grinding b/t gears, but going in and out of 5th gear can be a bit "notchy".

I can maybe see where the PZ sychromesh could be a bit thin for my climate with daily highs in the 90's.
