Commercials that you hate.

....

Same thing with HGTV. There are so many same sex "couples" on House Hunters its just ridiculous. I never hate the people, ever, I just resent the agenda being pushed.
I have no issues with skin color. I dont see people that way.

I DO agree with the same sex couple thing. I have no issues with any human or choice of partner/ HOWEVER, movies and TV shows clearly are pushing the same sex thing as an outsized part of the population. Meaning if same sex is 10 to 15% of the population, I think 20% would be an overstatement. When you watch TV it seems to represent the population of 50% or more of the population. It's amazing and very apparent they present it like the new normal vs opposite sex couples, at least the way I see it.

I dont agree with that policy of regulating advertisements focused on health items/drugs.
I’m not sure what to think of regulating pharma ads…I do realize that big pharma is first and foremost a ‘business’ whose main goal is PROFIT rather than the health of the people but I normally oppose censorship. I’ve recently learned that the FDA receives a large amount of its funding from the very industry it’s tasked with regulating…..what could go wrong…like childhood obesity at an all time high.

Well said, my thoughts are since we live in a free world I’m ok with big pharma profiting over any product they produce. Profit drives incentive to produce these drugs.
Without profit we would not lead the world with drugs that better people’s lives.

Personal responsibility would greatly reduce the need for drugs and to me that lies with the individual. Not the drug companies.
We are a nation (and much the world now) that eats garbage for food AND knowingly too much of it. 70% of our nation is overweight. I dislike shifting blame to the drug companies. We lead the world in drugs to compensate for our irresponsible way we take care of our bodies.

I’d rather see people taxed/pay higher health insurance fees based on their BMI. This will reward those who take care of their body and shift more health care cost to those who don’t.

Call me a cheap skate but the very worst adverts for me are what I call the begging adverts. There seems to be an infinite number of different and obscure charities all wanting you to donate a fixed amount per month. To put it bluntly I don't think they tell the truth. They portray Africa as it was 50 or more years ago with the whole continent living in extreme poverty when that is not the modern reality. Every species of mistreated wildlife needs our support. The gross exaggeration and begging tone of them all is consistently depressing.
Yep totally agree and I won't donate as the majority of it ends up in the pocket of those pushing the agenda. I get it, people have to work for a living, but 6 figure salaries is a bit much regardless of what's involved. Fed up with the constant whining from non-profits...

Agree

A commercial bluntly telling people they are fat and what steps are needed is either going to be so watered down or full of protocol dogma - the controlists have given up. Result is: Tell people it’s ok to be fat. :D

Just revisiting rather than starting a new topic. Mostly watching YouTube vids, but I think I've seen a few of these on broadcast TV or ads attached to network TV program streaming.

I can't quite figure out what the heck this company called Hiscox Insurance does. Their ads are in high rotation on YouTube. They're big old song and dance routines where someone apparently has an issue like burst pipes or damaged equipment and they're singing about how this company saved them. But then they have this animated mascot (looks like a stop motion figure) dressed in a jumpsuit wearing a utility belt with tools in it. They show this mascot with a paintbrush, hammer, etc. fixing things. One of their commercials is about leaky pipes damaging a business. Sounds like it should be a plumbing company or something.

Soft drink manufacturers tend to push schools to have coke/Pepsi etc. Students will likely drink it especially now that the machines take credit cards.

Every time I get a bad ad I just go on YT and watch pretty much ANY Thai ad.
These people are amazing.

(And their ad spots seem to be inexpensive, as they sometimes make ads that are about ten minutes long).
